Governor Culver To Tour Flood Damage With Speaker Pelosi, Iowa House Delegation Today

Visit To Include Tours of Czech Neighborhood and Downtown Cedar Rapids

(DES MOINES) – Below is today’s public schedule for Governor Chet Culver.

NOTE:  Updated location for visit to Parkersburg.

What: Governor Culver will join House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, Congressman Leonard Boswell, Congressman Bruce Braley, Congressman Dave Loesack and Mayor Frank Cownie in a briefing on the flood damage to the Birdland Park Neighborhood and a brief walking tour.
Where: North High School
School Library

NOTE:   Press will be able to accompany the Speaker at the briefing in the library, along with the walking tour.  There will be a short media availability following the walking tour, which will begin around 12:20.  In case of rain, availability will be held in the school.
When: 11:45 am

NOTE:  Due to changes in the Speaker’s schedule, the Press Conference will begin at 11:45am, not noon as originally planned.

What: Governor Culver to join walking tour of Parkersburg Damage with Speaker Pelosi and Congressman Braley.  Media Availability to immediately follow the tour.

What: Governor Culver will join Speaker Pelosi, Congressman Loebsack, and local officials will tour a flood damaged area of the Czech Village Neighborhood (weather permitting).

What: Governor Chet Culver and Speaker Pelosi will review the new exhibit of photos taken during the Floods of 2008, and will then participate in a press conference with Congressman Dave Loebsack.  Following the Press Conference, members of the press will have an opportunity to ask questions.
