Statement From Governor Culver Regarding Severe Weather Fatalities In Pottawattamie County
(DES MOINES) – Tonight, Governor Chet Culver issued the following statement following the deaths of two individuals in Pottawattamie County.
“We are deeply saddened by the loss of life in Council Bluffs tonight. Our hearts go out to the friends and families of those who were lost, and our thoughts and prayers are with them and all of the people impacted by tonight’s severe weather in Council Bluffs and Omaha.
"The state stands with the people of southwest Iowa tonight, and is ready to help in response and recovery.
"As Iowa continues to endure a summer of serious weather events, we continue to encourage every Iowan to keep a close watch on weather reports and to take seriously any warnings that are issued.”
