First Lady Mari Culver, Private Business Leaders To Hold Press Conference In Cedar Rapids This Morning
Will provide new information on private statewide fundraising initiative
DES MOINES – Today, First Lady Mari Culver will join with business and community leaders to announce major progress regarding the private-sector fundraising initiative designed to help Iowans affected by recent flooding and severe weather across the state.
Last week, Governor Chet Culver announced that civic leaders Barry Griswell, Chairman of the Principal Financial Group, Inc, and Fred Hubbell, former Chairman, President, and CEO of Equitable of Iowa Companies, have agreed to lead a new initiative to raise private funds for those affected by this year’s historic flooding and tornados. In addition to Griswell and Hubbell, the new initiative will be led by University of Iowa President Sally Mason, Rockwell Collins CEO Clay Jones, Aegon USA CEO Pat Baird, and Amy Nimmer, President of the John Deere Foundation.
