Mobile Disaster Recovery Center In Parkersburg Tomorrow
A phone bank that residents may use to register for federal disaster assistance will be operational tomorrow in Parkersburg.
(DES MOINES) – A mobile disaster recovery center (DRC), which will house the phone bank, will be located near the American Legion Hall at the corner of Colfax and Miners Streets. Parkersburg residents may use the DRC to call the federal Individual Assistance Registration line (1-800-621-3362) to register for disaster assistance. The mobile DRC will only have phones available and will not be fully staffed at this time.
The mobile DRC will be available to Parkersburg residents beginning at 8:30 a.m. on Wednesday, May 28, 2008.
Individuals and business owners who sustained losses may also register for assistance online beginning tomorrow at http://www.fema.gov. For the hearing and speech impaired, the number to call to register for assistance is 1-800-462-7585 (TTY). The toll-free telephone numbers will operate from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. (local time) seven days a week until further notice.
