Governor Culver Takes Action On Legislation

DES MOINES – Today, Governor Chet Culver signed the following legislation:

Senate File 2317:

Almost every year the Legislature routinely passes legislation to make corrections to the Iowa Code consistent with statutory corrections and updates of the Iowa Code. Senate File 2317 relates to statutory corrections which may adjust language to reflect current practices, insert earlier omissions, delete redundancies and inaccuracies, delete temporary language, resolve inconsistencies and conflicts, update ongoing provisions, or remove ambiguities. The bill also includes effective and retroactive applicability date provisions.

Senate File 2320:

Almost every year the Legislature routinely passes legislation to make corrections to the Iowa Code consistent new law changes and eliminate some formatting issues in portions of the Iowa Code. Senate File 2320 relates to nonsubstantive code corrections and including effective and retroactive applicability date provisions.

Senate File 2154:

Senate File 2154 changes the definition of an inclined or vertical wheelchair lift that currently reads "a lift used as part of an accessible route" at a public building, so it would now read a lift used to transport a wheelchair. The bill changes several other sections of the Code chapter on elevators to make them more clear and specific.

Senate File 2199:

Senate File 2199 amends Code language to allow appeal of a denial of dental insurance coverage based on medical necessity.
