Governor Culver Praises House For Passing Income Tax Relief For Iowans
DES MOINES – Below is a statement from Governor Chet Culver praising the Iowa House for passing HF 2417, a bill to exempt federal tax rebates from state taxes.
STATEMENT FROM GOVERNOR CHET CULVER:
“I am pleased the House was able to work in a bipartisan way to pass this important legislation ensuring future federal tax rebates will be exempt from state taxes. It is estimated Iowans will receive $1 billion in economic stimulus rebate checks, and this bill will put an additional $67 million into the pockets of Iowans. I urge the Senate to quickly pass this legislation so I can sign it and Iowans can begin budgeting for the rebate checks they will receive this spring.”
