Governor Culver Makes Judicial Appointment
Governor appoints Steven Andreasen as District Court Judge for the 3rd Judicial District
(Des Moines) Today, Governor Chet Culver appointed Steven Andreasen as a District Court Judge for the 3rd Judicial District of Iowa. Andreasen is currently a Woodbury County Magistrate and in private practice in Sioux City. Judicial District 3B includes Sioux, Plymouth, Woodbury, Monona, Ida and Crawford counties. The vacancy was created when Iowa District Court Judge Michael Walsh retired after 25 years of service.
I am delighted to appoint Steven Andreasen as District Court Judge to the 3rd District, said Governor Culver. He has served as a Woodbury County Magistrate with distinction, and I am certain he will make valuable contributions to our judicial system in the years ahead.
STEVEN ANDREASEN: Steven Andreasen is currently a Woodbury County Magistrate and in private practice in Sioux City. He received his undergraduate degree at the University of Iowa in 1989 and his law degree from the University of Iowa in 1992 with distinction. After law school Andreasen joined the firm Margolin, Gildemeister, Willia, Mugan & Keane. In 1999 he become partner in the firm, now named Willia, Stahle & Andreasen, where he currently practices. Since July of 2006, Andreasen has served as Woodbury County Magistrate.
