Governor Culver Makes Judicial Appointment

Governor appoints Christopher C. Foy as District Court Judge for the 2nd Judicial District

(Des Moines) Today, Governor Chet Culver appointed Christopher Foy as a District Court Judge for the 2ND Judicial District of Iowa. Foy is currently a private practice attorney in Waverly. Judicial District 2A covers Winnebago, Hancock, Worth, Cerro Gordo, Franklin, Mitchell, Floyd, Butler and Bremer counties. The vacancy was created by Iowa District Court Judge Paul Riffel’s retirement.

“I am proud to announce Christopher Foy as Iowa’s new District Court judge for the 2nd District,” said Governor Culver. “His experience has prepared him well for his new job as a District Court judge, and I have no doubt that Mr. Foy’s expertise will be an asset to Iowa’s judicial system and the 2nd District.”

CHRISTOPHER C. FOY: Christopher Foy is currently a private practice attorney in Waverly. He received his undergraduate degree from the University of Northern Iowa with high honors in 1984 and his law degree from the University of Iowa, College of Law with high distinction in 1987. After law school, he joined a Minneapolis based firm, Best & Flanagan. In 1991 he moved back to Iowa joining Leslie & Collins. In January of 1993 Foy became partner at Leslie, Collins & Foy where he currently practices.
