Governor, Lt. Governor attend Iowa Corn Indy 250
On Sunday, June 24, 2007, Governor Chet Culver and Lt. Governor Patty Judge attended the inaugural Iowa Corn Indy 250
at the Iowa Speedway in Newton. During the day, the Lt. Governor promoted the use of renewable energy and thanked the
Indy Racing League for their use of 100% ethanol in Indy cars.
“I want to thank everyone at the Indy Racing League for coming to Iowa, and for making the commitment to run all Indy cars on clean-burning ethanol,” said Lt. Governor Judge. “By doing so, you are helping to clean the environment while sending a clear message to millions of IRL fans around the globe on the importance of renewable energy.”
While at the speedway, Lt. Governor Judge had the opportunity to take a test drive around the track in the official pace car, which approached speeds of nearly 100 mph.
