Governor Culver Makes Additional Appointments

Governor makes 180 boards and commissions appointments

(Des Moines) Today, Governor Chet Culver made 180 additional boards and commission appointments to be confirmed by the Iowa Senate. The appointments were made to 81 separate boards and commissions.

The Senate has 30 days to confirm the Governor’s appointees. Appointees must receive two-thirds approval in the Senate.

“Immediately following the election last November, I conducted an extensive search across the entire state to find the best individuals to serve on these boards and commissions,” said Governor Culver. “If we are going to build One Iowa, I believe we need to make sure Iowa’s boards and commissions are representative of the state with regards to geography, gender and ethnicity. We worked hard to cast a wide net in our search, and I am honored these talented and capable individuals have agreed to serve in this Administration.”
