Governor, Lt. Governor to Embark on One Iowa Tour
(DES MOINES) – Governor Chet Culver and Lt. Governor Patty Judge will travel around the state this week following the Governor’s first Budget Address to the Iowa General Assembly. The “One Iowa” Tour will highlight the Culver/Judge Administration’s proposals for the coming fiscal year, which are designed to bring Iowans together and move the state forward.
“Iowans spoke with one voice during the last election,” said Governor Culver. “They not only expect, but demand, a brighter, stronger, more prosperous Iowa, and the proposals laid out in my budget will do just that. The Lt. Governor and I are taking our message all across this state to share our ideas with Iowans and to work with them to make one Iowa with an unlimited future.”
The Governor will start his travels on Wednesday, January 31, 2007, with visits to Council Bluffs, Sioux City and Mason City. The following day, Thursday, February 1, 2007, he will visit Eastern and Southern Iowa with stops in Cedar Rapids, Davenport and Ottumwa.
The Lt. Governor’s travels will also start on Wednesday, January 31, 2007, with stops in Dubuque and Clinton, followed by stops in Fort Dodge and Ames on Thursday, February 1, 2007.
