Governor-elect Culver to hold "Building One Iowa Policy Forums"

Stakeholders & Citizens to Discuss Iowa’s Future

(Des Moines) On Thursday, January 4, 2007, Governor-elect Chet Culver and Lt. Governor-elect Patty Judge will hold “Building One Iowa Policy Forums” at the Polk County Convention Center. The forums will consist of four separate workgroups formed to discuss and brief Governor-elect Culver’s incoming administration. The workgroups will focus on the issues of education, health care, energy and property taxes.

“I have asked stakeholders and citizens from across the state to attend these forums and let me, the Lt. Governor-elect and my staff know their views on these incredibly important issues facing the state,” said Governor-elect Culver. “Many bright and talented people who deeply care about Iowa’s future have agreed to attend these policy forums to discuss these issues. I am grateful for their service and look forward to hearing what they have to say prior to taking office on January 12th. Governing is never easy, but I am optimistic that we can move closer to building one Iowa by bringing everyone to the table and listening to what they have to say.”

There will be time during the “Building One Iowa Policy Forums” for the public to comment and share their views. Governor-elect Culver encourages any Iowan who wants to share his or her views on the four major issue areas of education, health care, energy and property taxes to attend the forums and comment during the time allotted for public comments.
