Governor-Elect Chet Culver and Lt. Governor-Elect Patty Judge Announce Key Members of Transition Team
(Des Moines) Today, Governor-elect Chet Culver and Lt. Governor-elect Patty Judge announced key members of the transition team, including Chair Bonnie Campbell and Staff Director Charlie Krogmeier.
“We are honored to have Bonnie and Charlie leading such a capable transition team,” said Governor-elect Culver. “I am committed to having a smooth transition into office, and I couldn’t have asked for a better team to assist me in this effort. Lt. Governor-elect Judge and I will be moving quickly to make appointments and working on our agenda to lead Iowa forward come January.”
Today’s announcements include:
- Bonnie Campbell, Chair: Former Iowa Attorney General, former Chair of the Iowa Democratic Party and Chair of the Culver-Judge gubernatorial campaign. She is currently an attorney in private practice in Des Moines.
- Charlie Krogmeier, Director: Currently serves as First Deputy Secretary of State. He previously served as Deputy Attorney General under state Attorneys General Bonnie Campbell and Tom Miller, and as a Lee County Supervisor.
- Joni Klaassen, Deputy Director: Currently serves as Deputy Secretary of State.
- Elisabeth Buck, Deputy Director: Currently serves as Deputy Chief of Staff to Governor Vilsack. She previously served as Director of the Vilsack-Pederson transition team in 1998.
- Brad Anderson, Communications Director and Spokesman: Previously served as Communications Director for the Culver-Judge gubernatorial campaign.
- John Hedgecoth, Policy Director: Previously served as Policy Director for the Culver-Judge gubernatorial campaign. Prior to that, he was Deputy Secretary of State and Director of the Business Services department in that office.
- James Larew, Senior Advisor and Counsel: Currently serves as an attorney in private practice in Johnson County, and previously served as a senior advisor to the Culver-Judge gubernatorial campaign.
- Marilyn Monroe, Senior Advisor: Previously served as Deputy Secretary of State in the administrations of Secretaries Elaine Baxter and Chet Culver, and as Des Moines County Recorder.
- Miriam Tyson, Senior Advisor: Currently serves as Outreach Coordinator in the office of the Secretary of State, and is a member of the Board of Trustees of the Hawkeye Community College.
